Early autographed letter signed by the composer, still using his initial “J”. He asks the librettist Thomas Sauvage to return the copy of the libretto of his earliest Italian opera “Romilda e Costanza” in person.  We include an original period lithograph.

Fine condition

The second edition of Liszt’s controversial book on music in Hungary.  Originally printed in Paris in 1859.  The second edition was expanded by his mistress Carolyne zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and offered in both French and German. A fine example.

The Russian Embassy in Washington D.C. relays a letter from the Russian composer to the conductor in the midst of World War II.  A three month delay ensued from Kabalevsky’s March dictated letter until it was finally sent on July 17,1944.
