The great Danish composer laments the death of a friend to which he had a premonition of her death.  Gade, a disciple of Mendelssohn and Schumann, who championed his work, was the most prominent Scandinavian composer until Grieg.

Twice autographed postcard photograph of the German composer.  Humperdink was a prolific composer, a devoted Wagner disciple and will forever be remembered for his charming and tuneful opera “Hansel und Gretel.”
